10 Day Plastering course

This 10 plastering is ideal for candidates looking to gain a firm grasp of the plastering trade. This course is designed for candidates who are looking for an intensive training course that will enable them to start work as a plasterer, undertaking small to medium sized jobs immediately after completing the course.

This course also serves as the ideal bases for students wishing to progress onto the Diploma Level 2 Plastering qualification.

What is covered in this course?

Primarily a practical based course covering a range of projects. Our instructors will enable you to complete these tasks efficently and to a high standard. Over the course of 5 days you will undertake practical situations to reinforce the skills that you have learnt.

Course content

• Health and Safety requirements.
• Correct use of materials, equipment and tools.
• Cutting angle beads, fixing and applying jointing tape.
• The correct way to apply plaster and produce a good finish.
• Exterior rendering.
• Applying gypsum based backing plasters.
• Two coat skimming and finishing to a smooth finish ready for decorating.
• Patch repairs to a damaged plasterboard wall.

In the remaining five days, you will build on the skills already learned, reinforcing your skills and boosting your confidence to be able to carry out more difficult plastering jobs quickly and competently on your own. This will include supervised practice on larger, higher walls and more varied areas, enabling you to reinforce your trade skills.

Who is this course suitable for?

Anyone who has previously completed the 5 day plastering course and requires further plastering training, alternatively you may already be working in the construction industry and looking to expand your skills.

Course duration

This course lasts for 10 days and runs Monday to Friday, 9.30 until 4.00pm.
