To qualify managers, supervisors or any staff member that has been deemed responsible enough to be in charge of a situation which calls for skilled, calm, confident and competent leadrship in an emergency. Suitable for: Any industry where staff need a full, professional and HSE-approved certification.

About this course

No prior qualifications needed however, some prior experience of a first aid course would be desirable but certainly not essential.

Course programme

As of October 1st 2009, this three-day course replaces the four-day course due to a reduction in contact hours from 24 to 18. Ideally, this course should be completed over three consecutive days however; encompass training solutions can accommodate any specific needs you may have.

Duration:
A minimum of 18 contact hours. Ideally, this course should be completed over three consecutive days however; encompass training solutions can accommodate any specific needs you may have.

Syllabus consists of;

Legalities, responsibilities and reporting Fractures Assessment of the situation Dealing with an unconscious casualty Sprains Resuscitation Heart Attacks Poisoning Control of bleeding Bandaging Burns Head injuries Eye injuries Strains Shock Choking

If your organisation requires a more in-depth session in any area/s then additional training in said area/s can also be accommodated.

Certification

Following successful assessment, all participants will be issued with the First Aid at Work certificate approved by the Health and Safety Executive. The qualification is valid for three years and can be renewed by attending the 2-day requalification course.

Course numbers

This course can accommodate a MAXIMUM of 12 people. All course participants must be aged 16 or above on day 1 of the course.
