Entry Requirements
You must have four GCSEs at grade C or above including English. A Merit grade from a Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts with Level 2 Functional Skills Literacy is also accepted. An audition at interview is required. This is a one year course that is equivalent to 1.5 A levels. You will complete the 90 Credit Diploma course in your first year, and you can then progress onto our Extended Diploma qualification in your second year, in the same subject. This will help you to attain the optional units required to attain the full 3 A level equivalent qualification in your chosen subject.

Course Assessment
Although the course is mainly practical you will also work on research projects based on companies and organisations within the Arts Industry. Assessment is continuous throughout the course plus two full productions (one in each year). You will build a portfolio and repertoire of skills for assessment, and evidence will be in the form of recordings of practical work, log books, evaluations and essays.
Progression
The course is intended as a preparation for Employment in the Arts or as a step towards Higher Education as this course is recognised by universities as the equivalent to 3 A Levels. Previous students who have studied the course have gone on to Performing Arts and Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre, Creative Writing, Events Management, English and Drama and Psychology. We have also had great success with ex students now working in TV, Film, Commercials and Theatre.
