About this course
A minimum of 5 A C GCSE subject passes, including a minimum of 2 grade Bs, one to be in English Language.

This course is for students who have a genuine interest in how language works in different contexts.
What is the course about?
This is a dynamic and interactive course that explores our use of language in different situations - speaking, writing, formal and informal. This course covers a wide range of topics and issues around language as well as developing your analytical skills.
Will I need anything else?
You will need to buy a textbook for the course from college.
How long & often do I attend?
Three times a week, meeting the college attendance targets.
How will I be assessed?
In both years one and two you will be assessed through 40% coursework which is internally assessed and externally moderated and 60% examinations which are externally assessed.
What opportunities will this lead to?
You could progress onto a BA Hons degree in English Language, Creative Writing, Linguistics or Teaching. Following this you could enter employment in journalism, the media, law or teaching.
