Description of the Course
The Association of Accounting Technicians is the professional organisation for accounting technicians. It provides a recognised qualification and a membership body for accounting support staff working in accounting practice, industry and commerce and the public sector. The training scheme has three stages: Foundation, Intermediate and Technician (NVQ Levels 2, 3 and 4).

Course content
The programme consists of 7 units:

· Preparing ledger balances & an initial trial balance (exam)
· Recording income and receipts
· Supplying information for management control
· Working with computers
· Achieving personal effectiveness
· Contributing to maintenance of a healthy, safe and productive working environment
· Making and recording payments

Assessment
Candidates must sucessfully complete:

· 1 External exam
· 7 Skill based assessments
· Portfolio of evidence.
