Course programme

The course is designed for those students wishing to pursue a career within Art and Design. The art and design pathway is structured to provide you with the opportunity to produce a portfolio of your own work that will enable you to progress onto higher level courses.

The course is made up of units of learning and examples include the following:

Introduction to Drawing The History of Art and Design Design and Research Skills The Exploration of Art and Design Materials Core Skills to include Study Skills, Career Planning, English, Information Technology, Numeracy and Research Skills All of these units will include the analysis, evaluation and recording of information. Throughout your course you will be supported in your studies by staff with practical and commercial skills in these areas and teaching will be flexible to enable you to achieve your goals.

Credits are awarded for the Access course modules and in total 60 credits are available.
