Course programme

Highbury College's Access programmes are specifically designed for students who require extra support to prepare for higher education. You are free to study different subject combinations according to the entry requirements of the university of your choice. Students from Highbury College's Access to Higher Education programme have moved on to many of the country's top universities including Southampton, Warwick and York.

This programme is suitable for students aged 21 or over. Applicants aged 19 or 20 will also be considered if they have experience outside full-time education, for example through work or travel. Relevant work experience will be taken into account.
You will achieve the 'QAA Approved' Access certificate, which is validated by one of the leading Awarding Bodies (OCN London) and is a recognised entry qualification to universities and colleges across the United Kingdom. In addition, you can gain certificates in GCSE English and Maths.
The programme is taught by a mixture of classroom teaching, key skills, tutorials, assignments and self-directed study. You will have a variety of assessment methods including essays, presentation, seminars and time-constrained assignments.
