Overview
If you are interested in working as an Accountant, our apprenticeship will give you the skills and training you need to succeed. With training in employment and study one day per week you will learn everything there is to know about recording of income and receipts, making and recording payments, preparing ledger balances and initial trial balance, supplying information for management control and working with information technology.

Entry Requirements
You will need 2 GCSE’s Grade C or above in English and maths or equivalent. Entry to the course is subject to having employment within the industry. The suitability of your employer will be assessed by means of Training Needs Analysis, Health and Safety Appraisal and check on Employers Liability Insurance. You will need to be in paid employment and working a minimum of 30 hours a week to enrol on this course.

Course Duration
Apprenticeship Level 2 is: 12 months, Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3: 12-15 months.

The course combines paid, employed work experience with time out of your job to gain career-focussed training at College.

There are no optional units on this qualification.

Course Assessment
For the QCF in AAT your job knowledge and practice is assessed through a portfolio of evidence, College assessment and also an examination set and marked by the AAT.

Progression
You could progress first onto an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) then onto the full time Level 4 Diploma in AAT, there is also the opportunity to study professional accounting qualifications including ACCA, CIMA and CIPFA, or a job in accounting.
