The acrobat is the one who performs in public in games of strength and dexterity, trying to satisfy his own vanity or ambitions through, therefore, exhibitionism. The acrobat is, therefore, a juggler who performs in the squares in the past, while today in circuses and variety shows, performing spectacular exercises of high difficulty and / or high risk. The numbers proposed by the acrobat require excellent physical preparation and uncommon athletic skills that guarantee the necessary safety to perform the exercise correctly and without running dangers. A number that is commonly seen in the circus is one in which one or more tightrope walkers walk in balance on a rope a few meters high (called in the jargon low wire), with the cable stretched by two mini pylons connected to a winch, there is also the most spectacular high wire in which the artist performs evolutions from one pylon to the other of the tent, several meters high: these are also called balancing numbers or more correctly of tightrope walking. Another proposed number is a series of pirouettes and involutions on mobile swings with which the acrobats launch themselves from one pylon to another: this number is defined in the jargon trapezium, a more than correct definition given that the handlebar and the two connected wires to the ceiling that support it they form the figure of an equilateral trapezoid. Another acrobatic activity is that of "aerial fabrics" a long fabric (about 16 meters long by 1 m wide) folded in half (ie two fabrics 8 meters long are obtained) on which the acrobat dances and performs spectacular figures. A variant of aerial fabrics is the "smooth rope", a long cotton rope with a diameter of about 5 cm hung by a head on which the acrobat carries out his movements.
