2. Course description This one day course will establish some key acrylic painting methods through the use of web images, photographs and sketches.We will explore colour and brush stroke in the Style of Van Gogh There will be a short talk and demonstration of techniques Learners will gain confidence in using materials, mixing colours using expressive brush workThere will be a review of work through group discussion and one to one support.The overall aim is not necessarily to complete a painting, but to have fun, achieve personal expression and learn more about the artist This could act as an extension to other painting courses attended or as a one off workshop

3. Entry requirements Some experience of painting would be helpful, but this is not essential. Useful for anyone needing a refresher, or for any one with little experienceWe welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Surrey Adult Learning values and supports equality and diversity by promoting fairness and respect at all times. 4. Equipment required Bring whatever acrylic materials you may already have purchased. These should include a basic set of acrylic paints. Acrylic board or canvas at least A3 or above. A range of flat and round acrylic brushes, a palette, ruler, soft pencil, rubber, paper/towel roll. You will also need some web images of suitable landscapes (hot and Sunny preferably) for the afternoon 5. Assessment method Not available
