From learning how to make an impact during auditions, to honing your presenting skills and acting in a scripted drama – this course will bring your talents to the fore while developing your ability in film production; offering you the chance to learn camera and editing skills. This course combines theory and practice to give you an all-round understanding of the highly competitive and exciting TV and Film industries both behind and in front of the camera.
- Acting Skill Development: During your first term you’ll develop your acting skills during workshop sessions. You’ll also develop your understanding of video technology and communication skills in the Creative Media industry.
- Scriptwriting: The second term is all about creating a short film. First, you’ll learn how to make an impact during auditions; you’ll then develop your scriptwriting and acting skills to star in your own short film production. The finished product will be screened at a local cinema.
- Documentary-making: Working alongside TV & Film students, you’ll research and present a factual documentary on a topic of your choice. You’ll also develop your understanding of research techniques.
- Music Video Production: During this term you’ll work alongside Music Performance students to plan and produce a Music Video. You’ll be able to use your acting and writing skills to develop the narrative to support the music. You’ll also write and produce a radio drama that will be broadcast across Confetti’s radio station, ConAir.
- TV Presenting: You’ll work alongside TV & Film students to create and star in a high-quality TV show. You’ll also develop your understanding of media products while designing custom idents for your show.
- Stage Production Project: During the final term, you’ll draw upon all the skills and knowledge you’ve developed over two years, to plan, write and develop a final end-of-year stage production which will be filmed and edited by TV & Film students for inclusion in your portfolio.
