Course programme
Working on a small number of texts you will develop new techniques of working on character, as well as how to act texts with heightened language and physicality (such as comedy and tragedy) and non-naturalistic plays (like Brecht and Beckett). You will work on balancing awareness of self and audience, gaining techniques required for comedy, finding and harnessing performance energy, connecting with universal archetypes, exploring your unconscious and collaborating mindfully within an ensemble. You will also work on unlocking the possibilities of the body, including the voice and imagination. This course is best suited for students who have completed the short course Acting - An Introduction or Acting - Working with Text at Central, or have some equivalent acting training from elsewhere.
