Course programme

The plays will be read and discussed in terms of dramatic structure, characterisation, themes and their effectiveness as performance texts.

A variety of teaching methods will be used including tutor input, large and small group discussions, video/dvd and reading. You will be asked to prepare sections of the text before class. You need to obtain a copies of: Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare (Cambridge School Shakespeare - 3rd Edition) A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams (Modern Classics (Penguin) Play edition).
