Administration Award Level 2
The qualifications provide candidates with the essential underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills that would be needed by a competent employee functioning in an administration job role. The qualification is made up of two mandatory units. Unit 1 is assessed by an on-screen, multiple choice test consisting of 30 items and Unit 2 is assessed by an assignment. Candidates should already possess a basic knowledge and understanding of administrative practice, but wish to extend their knowledge. It is also suitable for those who are studying in preparation for employment where they will be expected to work autonomously in carrying out administrative tasks.

What will I study?
Unit One - Identifying Administrative Functions The role of administration within organisations. The key features of team working. Communication inside and outside the organisation and the scope and importance of confidentiality. Effective Health and Safety and Employment legislation.

Unit Two - Performing the Role of Adminstrator The requirements of effective working. Techniques for effective time management. Identifying and participating in self-development.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be working in an office?
The award is designed to provide accreditation of the knowledge, understanding and skills needed by a competent employee in an adminstrative job role and as such would be more easily attained by someone working in an office. However, someone who has previously worked in an office should be able to complete the course.

Do I have to take the assessments?
The qualification is only achieved on successfully completing the assessments. You will be fully prepared before you attempt to take the assessments with exercises and mock papers.

How difficult are the exams?
Unit One is assessed by an on-screen multiple choice test of one and a half hours. It has 30 multiple choice questions covering all the areas studied.[X]Unit Two is assessed by the completion of a two hour assignment based on a given scenario. It will consist of a number of tasks which will demonstrate your knowledge and skills.

When do the exams take place?
The exams will take place when you are ready. Unit One is an on-line assessment available when the student is ready to take it and Unit 2 is an on-demand assignment.
