Course Summary:
This qualification will allow you to progress to higher education courses or go straight into the working world. The course will appeal to all those who thrive on practical and technical work, with a balanced emphasis on theoretical or academic achievement.
If you do not have GCSE Maths at grade A*-C, you will also develop your skills in maths. This will support your main programme of study, future progression and life skills.
Entry requirements
You will need four GCSEs at grade A*-C including English Language. Alternatively you may have a Merit or above in a BTEC Level 2 Diploma qualification, along with GCSE English Language at grade A*-C.

Course Content: The units studied may include: Digital Video Production Music Video Production Corporate and Promotional Programme Production Pre-Production Production Management Understanding the TV and Film Industry Pre-Production Techniques Communication Film and Video Editing Techniques Writing for TV and Video Film Studies Factual Programming Creative Media Production Advertising Production for Television Design Idents Maths (if necessary) How will I be assessed? You will be assessed 100% on coursework presented in the form of portfolios and written essays. Learners studying maths will be assessed through a controlled assessment or final exam. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? Whilst all equipment required for the course is available for loan from the College, you will be required to provide your own stationery and SD card. What can I do after this course? Successful completion of the 90-credit Diploma will allow you to progress to the BTEC Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production.
