This course is designed to further develop your academic and practical skills along with your knowledge of the industry. This broad based course allows you to develop your business acumen and leadership potential.

The topics you will study include:

· Running a hospitality business
· Managing a food operation in hospitality
· Sales and marketing in hospitality
· Building and developing effective teams in hospitality
· Finance and budgetary control in hospitality.

The course will develop your personal learning, thinking skills and ability to work as part of a team. In addition to this the course will also develop your analytical, creative, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

During the course you will have the opportunity to achieve additional
qualifications in English, Maths and IT as well as industry relevant
qualifications.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continuously during the course through a range
of assignments, investigations and practical assessments. You will undertake associated work experience and complete a work
related project.

On successful completion you may:

Progress to a degree level course in the field of hospitality and catering. This could include the Foundation Degree in Hospitality Management or a similar degree course.

Or

Start an exciting career in hospitality and catering as a Food Service Manager or a Department Head in a hotel chain.

This course is equivalent to 3.5 A Levels and allows entry to study
at degree level.
