Course programme
You need to be aged between 16 and 24 and currently employed in engineering. You will need to have GCSEs grade C or above in Maths and English or gained the Level 2 Engineering Apprenticeship, or similar relevant qaulification.
What’s involved?The Apprenticeship will cover
- Health and safety
- Engineering principles
- Principles of engineering manufacture
- Mainenance of machine systems
- CNC machining of materials
- Computer Aided design
- You will also be covering your NVQ in the field of Engineering in which you work.
You will be working at your place of employment and you will be required to attend College for day release.
How will I be assessed?You will be assessed on your practical competence through regular visits and assessments by an appointed Instructor/Assessor. You will also be assessed by carrying out assignments that will be marked and extrenal exams which will fulfil the requirement of the Technical Certificate.
Where can I move on to after this course?On successful completion of the programme you will achieve a Level 3 Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship.
