NVQ in desired field What qualifications do I need?

You need to be aged between 16 and 24 and currently employed in engineering. You will need to have GCSEs grade C or above in Maths and English or gained the Level 2 Engineering Apprenticeship, or similar relevant qaulification. 

What’s involved?

The Apprenticeship will cover

  • Health and safety
  • Engineering principles
  • Principles of engineering manufacture
  • Mainenance of machine systems
  • CNC machining of materials
  • Computer Aided design
  • You will also be covering your NVQ in the field of Engineering in which you work.    
How will I be studying?

You will be working at your place of employment and you will be required to attend College for day release.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed on your practical competence through regular visits and assessments by an appointed Instructor/Assessor. You will also be assessed by carrying out assignments that will be marked and extrenal exams which will fulfil the requirement of the Technical Certificate.

Where can I move on to after this course?

On successful completion of the programme you will achieve a Level 3 Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship.
