The Director of Advertising is the person in charge of advertising communication for the products of his own company or of a client company. He is responsible for creating brands or images of the company and plans and implements promotional and advertising campaigns, negotiating the costs. He builds the advertising message by designing the contents and the visual part (he is also called Art Director), in collaboration with the graphic designers. He launches new products on the market and buys or sells advertising space. To do this, he manages relations with the media. In carrying out external communication activities and in the creation of Marketing strategies, he can work - if present in the organization - in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Manager and / or with the Brand Manager. The Director of Advertising usually works in real Advertising Agencies that take care of assisting companies in the most effective promotion of their name and their goods. Among the main duties of the advertising director we mention: serving the company that wants to make its image attractive, creating advertising techniques, developing creative messages to be disseminated through advertising channels and coordinating advertising activities. The advertising director is, therefore, a creative person, who translates promotional objectives into images, colors, slogans or inductive and subliminal mechanisms. He knows how to capture the attention and entice the recipients of the advertising message to purchase. He has imagination and good taste and is familiar with the use of digital technologies.
