Description
The objectives of the Aerospace Engineering programme are:
To provide a broad multi-disciplinary education, enabling students to succeed in a wide variety of aerospace related careers.
To build a solid understanding in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, computational modelling and analysis, aerospace materials and structures, to enable them to be applied in the analysis and evaluation of engineering problems.
To build engineering skills of critical importance when working in industry, including the ability to break a complex engineering problem into its component parts, to be able to understand, evaluate and interpret data, develop arguments and make judgments based on fundamental and advanced concepts relevant to the application of engineering to the aeronautical and aerospace industries.
To build awareness of current aircraft and spacecraft design practices by reflecting the latest regulations and standards (e.g. FAA, AIAA, NASA and ESA).
To nurture and develop skills in problem solving, communication, working with team members, information retrieval, and the effective use of IT and computational software.
