About this course
You will need to have three GCSEs at grades A-D (including English) or Level 1 qualification (OCR, BTEC, City & Guilds) at Merti/Credit level. You will also need to have good Literacy and research skills. Work/life experience of mature students will be taken into consideration.

What will I learn?
This course is suited to those seeking a career in the aviation sector within the travel and tourism industries. There has been a rapid growth in employment with airlines and within ariprots in recent years and this is set to continue in the coming years. A strong interest in travel and the operation of airports is essential and will determine success on this course. This course consists of six units: Airports Operations, Passenger Services, Handling Air Passengers, Ground Handling Services, Landside and Airside Roles and Responsibilities, and Health, Safety and Security in Airports. In addition to these units there will be opportunities to complete certification in areas such as airline cabin crew and airport passenger service agents. It is a practical, work related course where you will learn by completing research assignments based on realistic workplace situations. You will develop Key Skills in Commuincations and Information Technology.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through the successful production of assigments for each unit studied. The assisgnments requird individual and/or small group research and independent portfolio production. The assigments are internally marked and externally moderated by NCFE.
What could I do next?
You could progress to Level 3 Airport Operations course (subject to successful completion of the Level 2 course): Employment or further training in the travel and tourism industries.
