Course programme

AS and A2 level Business Studies - International

We offer an International option for Business Studies students. This follows the same basic specification as the A level course but has the following features:
·an additional qualification unit Working in International Business from OCR Level 3 National Certificate in Business. This is a coursework portfolio completed during the year;

·a foreign exchange visit with students of the Lyngby Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark in Year 1 of the course;

·a study visit (not an exchange) elsewhere overseas in Year 2.

This is an opportunity to develop a mutual understanding of people in other countries, particularly those of your own age and an awareness of the wider social and cultural environment in which they live.
It is also an opportunity to develop your skills in a number of areas particularly in ICT, languages, working with other people and communication.
The work covered during the exchange " a mixture of joint project work, business and cultural visits - will be integrated into the normal programme of study and is designed to meet the needs of both the English and the Danish students, but will also involve considerable use of technology such as e-mail and the internet.
There is no requirement for language qualifications to enrol on the course as it is primarily a Business Studies course and all of the work undertaken will be in English. We will, however, provide sufficient input for you to acquire some basic conversational skills by the end of the exchange.
