Description
During each year of your degree, you will be required to study 120 credits, made up of compulsory and optional modules. Learning will be facilitated using an approach that includes lectures, laboratory practicals, independent learning and small groups. Whilst the programme will be academically rigorous, there will be support from personal tutors who are dedicated to helping you succeed in your studies and future career in science and medicine.
The course is being designed to guide you to a range of relevant careers. Following solid grounding in fundamental science and core scientific skills in the first year, the second year can focus on research, enterprise and/or medical sciences in practice*. The third year will allow you to develop independent skills relevant to a range of careers such as postgraduate research, pharmaceuticals, product development and graduate entry medicine.
* Progression onto the medical sciences in practice strand is subject to satisfactory performance in the first year

Entry Requirements A typical offer will be AAB-ABB at A Level, with an A in Biology and one other STEM subject (i.e. science, technology, engineering, mathematics or Psychology). Applicants with alternative qualifications should attain at least 128 UCAS tariff points and will be judged individually on their own merit.
