2. Course description Apprenticeships allow 16+ year olds to start work and earn a wage while learning new skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers in the industry so they offer a structured programme that takes Apprentices through the skills needed to do a job well. Most of an Apprentices training takes place on the job but they will also have to complete off-the-job training within the College. Level 3 - Certificate in Principles of Business and AdministrationLevel 3 - NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration (Workplace Performance).Units include:- Principles of Personal Responsibilities Develop and Evaluate Own Performance at Work Principles of Working with and Supervising Others in a Business Environment Principles of Providing and Maintaining Administrative Services Principles of Managing information and Producing Documents in a Business Environment Principles of Supporting Change in a Business Environment Principles of Maintaining Stationery Stocks. Principles of Budgets in a Business Environment.The Apprentice National Minimum Wage applies to all 16 to 18 year old apprentices and to those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. If the Apprentice is aged 19 and / or has completed the first year of their Apprenticeship the employer must pay the National Minimum Wage appropriate for their age. 3. Entry requirements Level 3 - Applicants preferably should have attained GCSE C grade or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths. Employment and experience in Business and Administration is essential.Attainment of a Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Business Administration is preferable. College interview and initial assessments will take place. Applicants will need to show that they are committed happy to work as part of a team and individually and be able to use their own initiative. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method The NVQ is assessed through workbased evidence compiled as a portfolio. The Technical Certificate is assessed using online multiple choice tests. English Maths and ICT are assessed using paper- based and online tests.
