The Apprenticeship in IT will help you develop the skills you need for your job, from supporting colleagues in finance to processing account details more efficiently, helping stock controllers in merchandise or helping to develop a company computer system. You will learn how to operate hardware and software, IT systems and networks. Available as an Apprenticeship at Level 2 or an Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3.

Course programme

The ICT Digital sector is vital to the economy as a direct creator of new jobs and economic growth. It also enables the population and businesses to communicate, share information, trade and manage their lives. ICT professionals with the right skills are always in demand in this fast moving and dynamic sector. In addition, ICT professionals are employed across all other sectors as ICT is used by almost all businesses. Employers are particularly interested in people with problem solving skills, who are strong communicators and have the ability to work in teams.


You will learn how to operate computer hardware and software, IT systems and networks.


As a student of Oldham College you will have full use of all the college facilities


  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals
  • Level 2 or 3 Certificate in ICT systems and Principles
  • Functional Skills Certificates in English, Maths and ICT
