The Programme
Study mode - day and block release.
Day release is intended for persons who have already been working on site for at least 2 years or for those aged 19 or above.
We strongly recommend that trainees who have little or no site experience attend College on a block release basis. Statistics from previous years have shown that inexperienced trainees under the age of 19 struggle to achieve on the day release course.
The Programme Content
Day release - 36 days attendance to College in the first year. (One day at College per week within College term times).
Block release - 75 days (15 weeks) attendance to College in the first year. (2 - 3 weeks at College per block, 4 - 7 weeks on site between blocks).
The same amount of theory and practical work has to be completed on either course. Block release enables continuity of work and offers the opportunity for more practice on practical tasks.
