About this course

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, or the National Award in Construction, or an NVQ Level 3 in a related occupational area. Other qualifications will be considered on a case by case basis. All applicants will be interviewed prior to acceptance onto the course, there is also a requirement to undertake a numeracy and literacy initial assessment.

The Programme
The programme of study consists of 18 units, on completion you will be rewarded with the Diploma in construction which is equivalent to three full A Levels.
The Programme Content
Over the two years some of the topics that you will be studying are: health & safety, construction & the environment, mathematics in construction, science and materials, construction technology, land and building surveying, control of resources, tendering, graphical detailing, environmental science, building regulations, design procedures, building services and ICT/CAD.
Progression / Careers
Following completion of the course you will be able to progress onto our Higher National Certificate in Construction here at the College, or you may wish to progress to university to study for a degree.
