Course description Develop your skills and knowledge in order to unlock Art and Design career opportunities; This course is designed to give you new insights into many different aspects of Art and Design. Through a series of workshops and projects you'll learn and build upon new and existing skills in a variety of areas while building a creative portfolio., , As a student you'll work in well-equipped studios and have access to a broad range of media and materials such as glass, clay, paint and photography. You'll also acquire a greater insight into industry practices through visits to galleries and exhibitions., , Importantly, you'll produce artwork based on specific briefs that will allow you to explore historical and contemporary art practices while analysing the work of others as well., , In addition, you'll have opportunities to improve your day-to-day skills in areas such as IT, helping you prepare for work or higher education study.,

Entry requirements A minimum of four GCSEs in the C/D grade bands, including English Language or Mathematics and an art subject., , Applicants should also bring examples of their recent work, including drawings made from observation and some research and/or written notes about your work to discuss at the interview., 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method All units are assessed individually, following set deadlines. On completion of the one-year course, you will be awarded an overall grade for the qualification.
