2. Course description This one year course covers a whole variety of principles and techniques in fashion and design, helping you to explore your interests and talents, whilst giving you broad skills across a range of methods.   Term 1 - Award in Art and Design  The first term provides an opportunity to explore your interest in art and design using various materials, methods and processes that support many art and design activities to include: • Drawing • Pattern and texture • Colour work • Exploration of ideas  Term 2 - full diploma  The full diploma will complete your course enabling you to build your skills, knowledge and understanding acquired through the Award. The course will provide skills and knowledge the following:  • Design • Textiles • Styling • Garment construction  This course is accredited by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body.

Entry requirements Students must have ONE of the following:   • 4 GCSEs (3 at grades A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E), including English & Maths • Level 1 qualification at merit, plus GCSE English & Maths (1 at grade A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E)  • Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English   A portfolio of art & design work and a reference are also required.   Adults 19+ who have industry experience BUT do not have the necessary qualifications can be invited in for interview. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method Assessment is continuous with final assessment points at the end of term 1 and term 3..
