This course will examine what constituted Renaissance art and architecture, how it started, its influences, its innovators and their importance to the development of western art. Through the works of artists like Donatello, Piero della Francesca, Mantegna, Raphael and Michelango we will consider what their achievements were and why they have had such lasting importance.
