AS / A2 PHOTOGRAPHY

Exam Board: EdExcel
Photography is everywhere! Almost every aspect of our lives is touched by some form of photographic image. So what is Photography, a Science, an Art, a factual record of the world around us, or an opportunity to create an equivalent world shaped by your imagination?

On the Paston Photography course you will be able to discover where your interest lies within the broad spectrum of photographic styles and techniques. The course is taught by a practising artist and a professional photographer. Photography is taught in the high performing Visual Arts Department which Ofsted graded as nationally outstanding in 2008. Inspectors said that Paston students produce creative and often ambitious pieces of work in Photography.

I have taken a lot from my time at Paston. I have been encouraged to explore and refine my skills. I took part in Open Studios 2009, the tutors have helped me prepare for this by showing me how to print and present my work in a professional manner. The course has given me the confidence to look forward to the degree course. Greg Hayward. Studying Photography at The University of East London 2009.

The course gives you a good understanding of both darkroom and digital processes. I particularly liked studio lighting because it enabled me to make big, bold and impressive images that look professional. Rachel Chambers Studying Photography at NUCA, Norwich 2009
