About this course

A minimum of 5 A C GCSE subject passes, one to be maths or English Language, including a minimum of 2 grade Bs, one to be in Music. Applicants will also have to sit a theory and skills competency assessment.

Who is the course for?
This course is suited for students wishing to develop their musical skills. It will broaden your understanding and knowledge of a variety of different musical styles and will equip you with analytical, compositional and performance skills.

Students will need to buy scores from their teacher for appropriate areas of study.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a combination of practical course work, composition and written examination.

What opportunities will this lead to?
You could progress to a BA Hons degree in Music, Music Therapy or Classical Studies. Following this you could enter employment in performance, teaching, arts administration, journalism, librarianship, broadcasting and sound engineering.
