2. Course description Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour, and tries to understand why people behave in the way they do. During the course, you will learn how we relate to other people, and how we are influenced by experience, situations and people. You will also study the process of development, how changes influence us throughout life, and consider the issues involved in mental illness. You consider similarities and differences between people. You will discover about how the brain functions and how it controls aspects of our behaviour. As part of the course you will conduct a variety of experiments and look at both the results of these studies as well as the ethical implications involved in studying and treating people.

3. Entry requirements You must have a GCSE Grade C or above in English Language, Maths and Double Science. You do not need any previous knowledge of Psychology, but you should have a keen interest in understanding and examining human behaviour from a scientific standpoint. It is important that you are interested in asking questions, are prepared to try and resolve issues by research and investigation, and are able to cope with not always getting an answer! 4.
