PRESENTATION

This 6 week Ashtanga Vinyasa course will introduce absolute beginners to this inspiring and dynamic practice. Students will learn to combine breath and movement and will be led safely through the standing postures, breathing and relaxation.

Phillipa is an established Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow yoga teacher. She was first introduced to Iyengar yoga twenty years ago and a few years later became a regular student. She was then lucky enough to become a regular long term student of John and Lucy Scott (Ashtanga yoga) in 1996 it was then that yoga became her life and took her to spend much of the last seven years in India.

Being one of the senior teachers at Purple Valley/Brahmani Yoga Goa and eventually teaching on there's and Shaktispiritannual teacher training programs. She has studied intensively with most of the highly regarded teachers in the world and has regularly returned to Mysore, India to study with Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Rangaswamy.

Her teaching style is based around her own experience of yoga, mainly Ashtanga Vinyasa with the flow and grace of the breath linking the poses but also emphasizing the alignment and precision of her continuing studies in the Iyengar yoga system. She feels a yoga practice should be made to "fit your body, rather than your body fit the practice". Her classes are physically challenging with the emphasis on developing an inner awareness and a cultivation of breath and flow. Her main influences being Shandor Remete, John Scott and Emil Wendel.

Phillipa has also for many years studied Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama and Meditation in India f ollowing the Hatha Yoga tradition. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an advanced teacher (RYT 500 hours) and Rep's registered.

She is now based and teaching in London.
