By the end of the session, participants will be able to: Differentiate between aggressive, passive and assertive behaviour; Identify the skills which are central to assertive behaviour; Describe the traits of effective communicators; Identify the effects of body language on communication; Describe ways of expressing feelings, handling criticism and dealing with confrontations; Describe when and where to be assertive; Audit own behaviour in awkward or difficult circumstances; Practice the skills of assertive behaviour. Suitable for: This training programme is particularly appropriate for managers and supervisors who are new to their role, or who have received little or no training in the complex area of 'people management'. Others who will benefit are managers and supervisors who feel their interactions with others could be more rewarding and productive.
