  • Acting on a recommendation I approached and was met in person and a full assessment/analysis undertaken. SDL work efficiently & flexibly with you to achieve your goal. Incredibly impressed with their knowledge, application of thought & methodologies - they are streets ahead. Needed the qual to continue to practice and they were expert in planning how i could achieve & subsequently supported whenever needed. I have become a talking point with other colleagues as I have achieved with relative simplicity and also know why I have achieved and can offer then advice regarding assessment and the QCF!!!!! Reliable, value for money, the 'supplier of choice' and you actually learn from them !

  • From deciding to undertake the qualification thru to first meeting to then staring it has been a positive and worthwhile expereince. SDL have been supportive, positive & professional throughout the duration and they have been invaluble in guiding me to success. Appreciate all the hard work they have done and will genuinely miss the contact from them. Wouldn't hesitate to reommend them as they really do know what they're doing.

What I would highlight: Very enjoyable and extremely useful. Staff are brilliant and very helpful and supportive. Would recommend this course and SDL to everyone as they really know what they're doing and explain everything carefully. Found putting my evidence together very useful and feel confident in my assessment capabilities. SDL came recommended as a company who deliver A1 and actually know what they're doing - the costs were were my no means the most expensive in the area but more impoirtantly they were bothered to come and see me and to take my enquiry further.

Course programme

Course review:

Suitable for those wishing to become Assessors - who are occuaptionally competent in an area and that offers QCF qualifications that may have NVQ in the title.
There are three Awards and also one Certificate -
Award - Understanding the Principles & Practices of Assessment (3 credits)
Award - Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (9 credits)
Award - Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (9 credits)
Certificate - Assessing Vocational Achievement (15 credits)
These level 3 qualifications require the individual to make judgements and decisions of candidates undertaking QCF/NVQ qualifications. For those who assess occupational competence in an individual's work environment, those who assess vocational skills, knowledge & understanding in environments other than work such as workshop, classroom & training centre etc. Those that carry out a blend of assessment activity. Individuals must have clear and demonstrable occupational competence that is up to date and posession of a current level 3 qualification is also desirable & continuing CPD. The suggested time of 6 months is purely a guide to achieve the award - personal time & committment can reduce the duration.

Additional information

The new awards are to allow for occupational and role allocation of expertise and to give specialisms in work role.
Credits/Points: Awards at 3 & 9 credits, Certificate at 15 credits
