Aim This 1 year, mainly practical, course will help you gain an insight into the Uniformed Services, as well as develop your skills and personal qualities in preparation for all areas of employments.
Content
Level 1 Certificate
This course offers you the chance to study topics such as:
· Service employment
· Physical fitness
· Team working skills
· Self-discipline and development
· Map reading and navigation
· Health, safety and emergency care
· Adventurous outdoor activities.

Level 2 Certificate
You will have the chance to study such topics as:
· Service employment
· Physical fitness
· Emergency situations
· Map reading and navigation
· Team working skills
· Team sports
· Motor vehicle maintenance.
There may also be opportunities to participate in visits and residential activities.

Progression/career opportunities
Students may progress to NCFE Level 2. Once Level 2 has been completed you could progress on to further study, such as the BTEC National Award, or those seeking employment can enter the Uniformed Services at recruit level.

Screening
Students will also be screened (in the College) and must achieve literacy and numeracy at the level appropriate to the course.
