Association of Accounting Technicians NVQ 4

Course Aims:
To produce competent level 4 students in an accounting discipline.To enable progression to professional membership of the AAT.

Course Content:
The following accounts based units will be studied throughout the year.
Compulsory Units:
Drafting financial statements.
Management of performance and enhancement of value.
Planning and control of resources.
Managing sytems and people in the accounting environment.
Health and safety at work (if not already completed).
Optional Units:
Two from four options below:-
Personal tax
Business tax
Auditing
Cash management and credit control

Progression:
Professional qualification with one of the major accounting bodies or a Foundation Degree/Degree in Accounting.

Awarding Body:
Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)

Exam:
Assessment is by means of skills tests during the year and end exams in December and June.

Qualification:
NVQ Level 4 in Accounting.

NVQ Level 4

Other Costs:
AAT admission fee 32, payable direct to AAT in September, new members only. AAT annual registration fee 69, payable to AAT in September. AAT exam fees 43 per exam payable direct to AAT in October and April. Please note that these costs are based on the year ended August 2009.

Duration:
Each NVQ level takes one academic year.See course listing for details.
