Where an employer’s assessment for First Aid needs identifies that an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) should be provided, this course provides the necessary training.
This training can be provided as a stand alone session to appropriate students or as an extension of our HSE First Aid at Work courses.
Students are instructed in both the theory behind, and the practical use of an AED. Practice and assessment is carried out with the aid of an AED training unit.
After attending this course trainees will be able to demonstrate safe and appropriate practice when using an AED in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
They will also be able to :
- Demonstrate Basic Life Support skills
- Describe ventricular fibrillation and its significance
- Explain defibrillation
- Explain the importance of early defibrillation
- Identify when an AED should be used
- Describe the maintenance requirements of an AED
- Describe what records should be kept.
All students are issued with an AED manual and successful trainees receive an AED certificate.
Our prices vary on the course content appropriate to your staff and the number of students attending.
