Automotive Vehicle Maintenance F/T

Course content:
The course is suitable for anyone seeking a career in Vehicle Maintenance, and provide the basic knowledge for entry into the industry.

There are 10 units within the programme, in areas of:
Engine Lubrication
Engine Cooling
Fuel and exhaust systems
Spark ignition systems
Electrical systems
Braking systems
Transmission systems
Steering and suspension systems
Wheel and type systems Body and interior cleaning

Assessment procedure:
Most assessments are practical in nature and undertaken at the College. They are assessed by a combination of practical assignments and oral knowledge tests.

Qualifications achieved:
Certificate in Automotive Vehicle Maintenance (Entry 3)

Progression opportunities:
Students can progress onto NVQ level 2 and 3 programmes once they complete this entry level qualification.

Most full-time students do not have to pay for their course. We may also be able to help you with some of the extra costs associated with college, eg travel, childcare, equipment, books etc. In addition, if you have just left school, you may be eligible for an Educational Maintenance Allowance.
