2. Course description This fashion course runs alongside ESOL study, so you'll also develop your maths and English skills. You will study two units relevant to the fashion industry. These will enable you to learn basic skills in garment construction and the use of industrial sewing machines and pattern cutting. You will also develop basic skills in flat patterns and practical knowledge in lay planning.

3. Entry requirements No previous experience is necessary, but you will need to demonstrate some basic knowledge of fashion and have a College interview and assessment. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You are required to complete practical tasks which must be evidenced in folders, annotation of work, and produce an end outcomes based on a theme/task. The work completed will form part of your course assessment. It is assessed and graded internally by a combination of practical work with end outcomes, presentations, exhibitions and written work. The work produced will relate to specific unit assignments and by the end of the year you will be expected to have completed your folder and two garments.
