DCA Module 1 Writing for Business
The aim of this unit is to enable you to gain an understanding of the principles and conventions of written communication in the workplace. You will study the various types of written communication, their purpose, layout, structure and style. As part of this unit you will write a business report which demonstrates enhanced report writing skills through the effective and appropriate use of language, tone, level of formality and style.
DCA Module 2 Developing Yourself and Others
In this unit you will look at the importance of organisational objectives and the significance of staff development in meeting those objectives. You will then go on to look at methods of identifying training and development needs including identifying learning styles and barriers to learning.You will look at how to plan and implement training designed to meet the development needs of both yourself and other members of staff and how to monitor its effectiveness.
DCA Module 3 Understanding the Communication Process in the Workplace
The aim of this unit is to enable you to explain the importance of communicating effectively at work. You will use the ‘communication cycle’ to identify the correct methods and channels of communication in a number of situations, both internal and external to the organisation.You will also examine specific communication needs and identify practical ways of overcoming any communication barriers which may exist.
DCA Module 4 Solving Problems and Making Decisions
The aim of this unit is to enable you to develop a basic knowledge of the problem solving process at work. You will learn how to collect and evaluate the necessary information and gain an overview of the techniques and models for problem solving which exist.You will then go on to apply these problem solving techniques to a work-based problem, and in doing so will assess and analyse the nature, scope and impact of the problem. Finally, you will identify possible solutions to the problem and work towards implementing a solution to resolve the problem.
