NVQ Level 2 Award in Health & Safety for the Workplace

What are the benefits of running this qualification?

Developed in consultation with employers the qualification is compliance driven and reflects current legislation. It is also a generic programme which is ideal for induction programmes and suits every sector.

For a learner the qualification uses simple and user-friendly assessment with a plain English approach and:

What does it involve?

Learners will take nine mandatory units:

  • Comply with health and safety law to ensure the safety of self and others
  • Maintain safe working conditions and safe working systems
  • Understand how to control and monitor risk in the workplace
  • Maintain positive attitudes towards safety at work
  • Use personal protective equipment
  • Understand how to deal with accidents
  • Understand how to prevent risks from fire
  • Understand how to prevent risk from chemicals
  • Manual handling techniques.

Each unit is assessed by a practical assignment. There is also a multiple choice test which covers the knowledge and Understanding of four of the units. This multiple choice test can be taken online or as a paper based test.

How long will it take?

The Level 2 Award in Health & Safety for the Workplace is a short qualification that has been designed to be offered as a stand-alone award or, thanks to its short length, incorporated into existing training programmes with minimum disruption. The delivery of the training will be tailored to your requirements. The training can take place at our training facility in Stockton-On-Tees, Middlesbrough or on site at your premises.
