Course Description
This course is for beginners. Unit 1 provides a basic introduction to using Microsoft Word for text and graphics. Unit 2 introduces students to the skills need to use ICT. Students will find information using the Internet where possible; windowssearch facility, the help facility within an application, database and spreadsheets. Unit 3 is an introduction to using e-mail for communication using ICT. Unit 4 is an introduction to the production of graphs and charts using ICT.

Qualifications: None or very few. Prior attainment indicates ability to progress at this level

Assessment: There are no time constraints on centre-assessed units. As a guide, students are expected to complete assessments in approximately three hours. Introduction to the necessary skills for using a computer, using Windows 2000/XP and other Office software.
