Course programme
The staff use a variety of teaching methods, teaching in lectures and in small seminar groups to provide opportunities for interactive learning and active engagement. English modules figure equally with Religion choices.
In your first year, you will study Introduction to Literary Studies, Introduction to English Poetry, and Introduction to Renaissance Literature, which are compulsory.
You can take up to three religion modules per year of study, a choice which becomes much more extensive in your second and third years. The only limitation is that you must read some pre-1800 and some post-1800 literature, and complete a dissertation in the final year.
You will be assessed by a variety of methods: exams, essays, presentations, reports and dissertations.
