Food is cheap and there are good stores such as Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's. It all depends on the student. For myself i don't drink and party so I would not spend money on going out for a drink or to a night club.

The specific nature of this course fits closely with latest guidance set out by The Higher Education Academy (HEA). In February 2012 the Government Economic Service (GES) and the Bank of England hosted an event which explored Economics teaching and learning in UK Universities, in the wake of the financial crisis. The discussion focused on the challenges faced by higher education institutions and the changes they need to implement in order to produce economics graduates who are fit for purpose.

Course programme
Year one comprises a series of compulsory modules in areas such as, foundations of microeconomics and macroeconomics, mathematics and statistics, fundamentals of marketing and fundamentals of management. A study skills module will equip you with the necessary key communication skills, IT skills, soft skills and learning strategies to enhance the learning experience throughout the course.
In the second year you will develop further the core modules of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and mathematics and statistics (including an introduction to econometrics), marketing management and marketing research. There is also an introduction to the concept of regional economics through a module on the Northern Ireland economy.
You have the option of a funded placement year or a study abroad opportunity in the third year. This will provide a link between the subjects studied and their application in a 'real world' setting, as well as allowing further development of your personal profile and business skills base. Satisfactory completion of the professional placement or study abroad option in the third year will lead to the award of the Diploma in Professional Practice or Diploma in International Academic Studies respectively.
In final year you will study core modules in economics of business strategy, business & economic forecasting economics of governance, digital marketing and global marketing. There is also an element of choice from a range of modules within Economics and Business. Many of these modules will develop commercial awareness and skills currently in high demand in the business and economics employment market.
