About BA History of Art and Italian
This course combines history of art with the study of Italian. This combination offers an enriching experience with exciting intellectual challenges, and provides a valuable skill set that is ideally tailored to an increasingly globalised workplace.
Italian language and culture have had a lasting impact on Europe. Today, Italy's innovative contributions to design, technology and fashion mean that it is a major global commercial force.
You will study a combination of language, art history and culture units, spending your third year abroad on a study or work placement in an Italian-speaking environment to refine your language skills and cultural knowledge.
Bristol has an enviable record for its research both in history of art and in Italian culture. Both departments encourage strong synergy between research and teaching, resulting in a vibrant learning environment for students as staff respond in their teaching to new developments.
