It also provides a 'stepping stone' to other electrical courses including Pat Testing, Part P, 17th Edition and Domestic Electrical Inspection and Testing. Suitable for: New entrants into the electrical industry or any industry which requires an electrical knowledge/background but who have no previous qualifications.

Course programme

This three day course combines the essential knowledge and understanding of safe electrical good practice with "hands on" experience of using the necessary tools and equipment. The course is ideal for technical staff who may not be qualified electricians but require the basic knowledge in order to disconnect, reconnect and diagnose faults safely on electrical equipment.

* Component identification.
* Use and care of test instruments.

DAY 2
* Conventional circuits
* Electrical drawing.
* Electrical power theory, AC supplies, Inductors, Capacitors etc.
* Design a complete installation

DAY 3
* Circuits used for control
* Identification of unsafe electrical situations
* Safe isolation
* Safe working practices
* Installing and/or rerouting cables
* Special Locations
* New circuit requirements
* Lighting installations
