The Automotive Department has excellent workshops and classroom facilities, plus the Centre of Excellence for Autotronics.

Course programme

This short training programme aims to deliver an elemental understanding of how and why electricity functions in the way that it does, removing the mystery and secrets of this vital energy.

A foundation in the fundamentals of electricity is essential knowledge with regard to diagnosis of any electrical circuit.

Programmes are individual and stand-alone, it is not necessary to complete all modules but it is recommended that they are studied as follows: Basic Electrics, Multi-meter Use, Electronic Ignition, Electronic Fuel Injection, Engine Management, EOBD and Diagnostics, as each programme builds on the knowledge gained on the previous sessions.
A College Certificate and recognition of basic electrical principles will be received.
Candidates will be assessed on the day of the programme and successful candidates will be notified on the day.
