Designed for the beginner, this fascinating course gives you the chance to try your hand at working with wood. With expert guidance, you are introduced to a variety of techniques and equipment enabling you to gain new skills and produce some useful and attractive final pieces.

Enjoy making a selection of items such as nest box, footstool, and the intriguing magic wine bottle holder (as seen on www.pennyproductions.co.uk from a delightful rural workshop on the edge of the Trough of Bowland.

The course aims to cover:

  • Accurate marking and measuring
  • Clamping and glueing
  • Nailing and drilling
  • Sanding
  • Use of Tennon and coping saws
  • Correct use of hand, bench and block planes

Special Requirements

All tools, equipment and materials are provided and included in the cost of the course.

It is strongly advised to wear stout foot wear and non-loose clothing.
