Description of the Course
This course is designed for people who are interested in developing the skills and knowledge required to become a Beauty Therapist. This course is delivered by Industrially Experienced Beauty Therapists.
Course content
Mandatory units
9 units are required for full Certificate.
G1 - Ensure your own actions reduce risks to Health & Safety
G4 - Reception Duties
G6 - Promote additional products or services to clients.
G8 - Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work.
BT4 - Improve and maintain facial condition.
BT5 - Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments.
BT6 - Remove hair using Wax techniques.
BT7 - Provide Manicure treatment.
BT8 - Provide Pedicure treatment.
You will be required to attend Exhibitions and Enrichment Programmes.
Additional Activities - Enrichment programme.
Assessment
Coursework, practical observations, assignments, external exams, workplace experience. All students throughout the course are required to supply some of their own models for practical assessments.
Who is the course for?
Entry requirements
An average of 3 Grade D or above including English & Science or you will have successfully completed a Level 1 Programme in Beauty Therapy and the relevant key skill. Progression onto level 2 is subject to a selection process.You may also be asked to demonstrate your commitment and skills in an interview. If you dont have the required entry qualifications there will be an opportunity for you to demonstrate your abilities to undertake the course. Over 19's will undertakea basic skills screener and demonstrate life skills or relevant experience.
What can I do after this course?
Work in the Beauty industry or you could progress to L3 Beauty Therapy, due to the limited number of places entry requirements are stringent. We recommend you discuss these in detail with our Beauty tutors.
